We take the model's home, draw and away probabilities, which come from a goals model on each team's recent form blended with Elo ratings and bookmaker prices, and add them in pairs. The pick is the pair with the highest combined probability.

What is a double chance bet?
A bet that covers two of the three possible results. 1X wins on a home win or a draw, X2 on an away win or a draw, and 12 if either team wins.
Is double chance a safe bet?
It is safer than a single result but never certain, and the odds are much shorter. An 80% pick still loses one time in five.
When is 12 the pick?
When a draw is unlikely, usually in high-scoring matchups where both teams are expected to score more than once.
